What Type Of Work Permit Should You Get In Singapore?

For you to be able to work lawfully in this city-state, you musty acquire a work permit from the Singapore government. This article gives an overview of the different kinds of work permits granted to foreign nationals who are working - or who wish to work - in Singapore.
Employment Pass (EP): Business owners and well-educated employees may be granted an Employment Pass by the Singapore government. For an immigrant to be granted an EP, he or she must have a degree from a recognized educational institution and his or her salary must be above SG$2500.00 each month. The Employment Pass is valid for one to 2 years and is also renewable.
Entrepreneur Pass (EntrePass): This work permit is issued to foreign business people who wish to put up a business in Singapore, but who may not qualify for an EP because they do not have a university education. This work permit is valid for 1 to 2 years and is renewable considering that as the business enterprise is still viable.
S Pass: As long as a mid-level immigrant employee's employer fulfills the eligibility quota required by the Singapore government, the professional can be issued an S Pass. Furthermore, the immigrant professional must at the minimum be a holder of a technical diploma and is paid a fixed income of SGD1800.00 on a monthly basis. This work permit is valid for 1 to 2 years and may be renewed as long as the employee is still working with the employer.
Miscellaneous Work Pass: The Miscellaneous Work Pass is granted to foreigners who are on short-term work assignments in Singapore. Examples of these brief assignments are workshops, seminars, and/or conferences.
